Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has taken disciplinary action against a staff member and others.
1. Person subject to disciplinary action: Executive officer (equivalent to deputy director) (at the time) belonging to an overseas office, etc.

4. Summary of the case:
Since his/her arrival at the post, the subject of this disciplinary action has continuously harmed the working environment beyond the extent necessary and reasonable in the course of his/her duties by repeatedly making comments to several persons in the office that could be taken as questioning or blaming the other person in the course of his/her duties. This is in violation of the prevention of power harassment stipulated in Article 5-2 of the Employment Regulations for Employees of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (Regulations (Personnel) No. 5, 2003), and the disciplinary action was taken based on Article 77, Item 1, Paragraph 1, Item 1: “Violation of laws and other regulations of the Agency”.
