A stroll through the streets with a focus on the Edo period atmosphere The entire area that has been reopened is organized as an “Edo period Kyoto town”. Machiya townhouses are lined up on both sides of the street, with restaurants and stores selling goods, and of course, cultural experiences are offered in these buildings. The street is also lined with buildings such as yaba (archery range), samurai residences, and Inari Shrine, where you can see merchants in kimonos, town girls, and kawaraban vendors. There are stores that rent out costumes and authentic period costumes, so it is fun to change into them and immerse yourself in this large stage.
