JR Sanyo Line “Tegara-yama Heiwa Koen Station” opens on March 14. Commemorative ceremony and stamp rally to be held.

JR West will open a new station, Tegara-yama Heiwa Koen Station, on the Sanyo Line on March 14. A ceremony to celebrate the opening will be held at the plaza in front of the south station from around 10:00 to 11:00 on the same day.

This station is located approximately 1.8 km from Himeji Station and 2.8 km from Eikaho Station, and is directly connected to Tegara-yama Peace Park (440 Nishi-Nobusue, Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture) and Himeji Super Arena, scheduled to open in the fall of 2026, by a deck.

The opening ceremony will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a celebratory performance by the brass band of Sanyo Junior High School in Himeji City. Two events will also be held on the day of the opening. From 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Maneki Shokuhin’s special “Tegara-yama Heiwa Koen Station Opening Commemorative Lunchbox” will be on sale at the ceremony site. 200 units will be available at a price of 1,620 yen.

From 11:10 to 12:00, a photo session with station name markers and JR West’s mascot character “Ico-chan” will be held on the stage at the ceremony site. Children will also be able to wear the “Children’s Seifuku” uniform.

In addition, a stamp rally will be held at facilities around the station from March 14 to 22. The facilities covered include Tegara-yama Koryu Station, Himeji Aquarium, Himeji City Green Counseling Center, Himeji City Tegara-yama Greenhouse Botanical Garden, Himeji Peace Museum, Hyogo Prefectural Budokan, and Tegara-yama Heiwa Koen Station.
