JAL renews the highest level lounge at Haneda Airport domestic flights as the “JAL First Class Lounge”. Baggage screening no longer requires removal of beverages.

JAL will reopen the “Diamond Premier Lounge” at Haneda Airport domestic flights as the “JAL First Class Lounge” from autumn 2026.

The North Wing will be temporarily closed from January 13 and undergoing renovation until October. The south wing will be temporarily closed from October to May 2027.

In addition, the First Class Status member (JGC) counters and security checkpoints will be redesigned to allow baggage to be inspected without removing liquid items such as PCs and bottled drinks.

The name change of Diamond Premier Lounge will be implemented at Shin-Chitose, Itami, Fukuoka and Naha airports in phases.

This initiative is part of a series of domestic flight service renewals to be launched in April. Based on the concept of “New Angles, New Stories: Encountering Japan Once More,” the new service will include JAL apps, in-flight meals, and an in-flight magazine, as well as a new Boeing 737-8 aircraft equipped with first class service scheduled to enter service in FY2027. Details will be reported in a separate article.
