Giant Piyorin Balloon” appears on the Nakagawa Canal in Nagoya, JR launches Kurafan, offering new store invitation tickets, handmade experience, etc. as return gifts.

JR Tokai Group has launched a project to install a 7-meter-high “giant Piyorin balloon” in front of the main entrance of “NAKAGAWA CANAL DOORS,” a commercial facility along the Nakagawa Canal in Nagoya City, to celebrate the opening of the facility and the 15th anniversary of Piyorin. A crowdfunding campaign is being conducted on JR Tokai Market until May 22 to cover the cost of balloon production and other expenses.

Piyorn, who has been the “face” of Nagoya, has sold more than 5 million “piyo” in total and will be appointed as the special envoy for Nagoya tourism in 2023. The JR Tokai Group wants to make Nagoya even more exciting, so a giant balloon worth about 1 million “piyo” will be set up to coincide with the opening of the NAKAGAWA CANAL DOORS.

The facility is located at the “new gateway to Nagoya” and is clearly visible from the Tokaido Shinkansen.

The crowdfunding target is 5 million yen, and the “all in” format will be used to implement measures and send returns regardless of whether or not the target amount is achieved. Returns will include an advance invitation to a new store, a must-see for Piyorun fans, and a number of limited-edition goods and events in collaboration with businesses along the Nakagawa Canal in Nagoya City.
