Disney Store will open “Disney Store Kyoto Porta” on April 28. To celebrate the grand opening, limited items will be sold.
The lineup includes three plush toys (5200 yen each), plush keychains (3300 yen each), and Urupocha-chan series plush toys (2200 yen each), all of which feature Disney characters dressed as Ushiwakamaru and Benkei, historical figures with ties to Kyoto.
The design is reminiscent of a scene in which Mickey Mouse, in the form of Ushiwakamaru, makes a spectacular appearance while blowing his whistle, and all have a narrative quality that will appeal to history buffs. Mickey Mouse with mellow eyebrows, or Tonoue-brows, is quite rare.
