Disney Cruises from Japan, Oriental Land establishes management company; shipbuilding to begin in late FY2026; unveils new logo.

On March 24, Oriental Land announced the establishment of Oriental Land Cruises, a wholly owned subsidiary of Oriental Land, which will begin operations on April 3.

The company aims to launch a Japan-based Disney cruise in fiscal 2028, and Ryotaro Shiiba has been appointed president of the subsidiary.

The company’s business is the management, operation, planning, development, and sales of cruise ships based in Japan, and it will continue to develop its business with a sense of urgency, and will continue to manage and operate cruise ships professionally and flexibly in the future.

Oriental Land Cruises’ Japanese Disney cruise line has been officially named “Disney Cruise Line Japan. The new logo unveiled this time is based on the logo of the Disney Cruise Line overseas.

The passenger ship will be based on Disney Cruise Line’s existing ship, Disney Wish, and detailed design, onboard contents, and design are currently under consideration for the specifications of the Japanese-flag ship. A shipbuilding contract has been signed with German shipbuilder Meyer Werft, and full-scale construction of the ship will finally begin in the second half of FY2026 (planned).
