Blue Impulse to fly display on Yonaguni Island, Okinawa on March 28. Weather forecast is “cloudy

The Japan Air Self-Defense Force will hold a display flight of the Blue Impulse during the “GSDF Yonaguni Camp 10th Anniversary Commemorative Event” on March 28.

The commemorative events at Yonaguni Garrison (3765-1 Tarumai, Yonaguni, Yaeyama-gun, Okinawa Prefecture) will be held over two days on the 27th and 28th, with the eve of the ceremony on the 27th opening at 18:00 and closing at 20:00 at the Yonaguni Garrison Gymnasium, and the ceremony on the 28th opening at 09:30 and closing at 15:00.

As of the 25th, the start time and flight route for the display flights have not been announced, but the Japan Meteorological Agency has forecast cloudy weather (20-40% chance of precipitation) for both the 27th and 28th, so the event may be “canceled” depending on weather and other conditions.

Since parking is limited on the day of the event, participants are encouraged to ride together or take a shuttle bus to the event. Shuttle buses will pass through Yonaguni Airport and Sonai area, and stop in front of the garrison’s ground or gymnasium.
