Almost Day will open “Almost Station AKAGI” (Mt. Akagi Torii Pass, Fujimi-cho, Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture) on April 24 at Torii Pass, the summit area of Mt. The grand opening will take place after trial operations that began last fall.
Akagi (Akagi Summit Station), where the cable car used to operate, was renovated and opened in the 1980s as a restaurant with a great view.
From Torii Pass, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the Kanto Plain, the sea of clouds on a clear day, Kakumanbuchi and Onuma, as well as food and beverages for visitors to take a break at the summit area and sales of almost daily goods.
On the opening day, 1,101 tickets commemorating the opening will be distributed. A talk event by Shigesato Itoi and others will also be held as a special event (free of charge, advance reservations required).
The food and beverage menu includes the “Much Tonburger,” a hamburger made from 100% pork from Akagi’s southern foothills, which proved popular during the trial operation, and “Akagi’s Soft Ice Cream” made from milk of Brown Swiss cows from “Three Brown” in Akagi’s southern foothills, as well as the new curry flavored “Akagi-no-Uma Pork Soup,” “Akagi’s Blueberry Cheese Parfait” made from Akagi’s Akagi’s Blueberry Cheese Parfait, made with Akagi’s soft-serve ice cream, and “Almost Ekiben” made with Akagi pork and apples are newly added to the lineup.
