Oarai Park Hotel reopens with full renovation. Newly built sauna suites/yuagari lounge, commemorative plans on sale.

Lilo Hotels & Resorts reopened the Oarai Park Hotel (8249-10, Isohama-cho, Oarai-cho, Higashi Ibaraki-gun, Ibaraki Prefecture) on March 1 after a complete renovation.

To commemorate the renewal, the hotel is offering an overnight stay with two meals plan that includes a Japanese/Western special kaiseki dinner for 18,700 yen and up (per person based on double occupancy).

The hotel once welcomed many VIPs as the city’s guest house, and was also a familiar place for local guests to use on their special days. The interior of the hotel was designed to resemble a luxury cruise ship in the 1980s, to convey the elegance of the hotel and the character of Oarai, a city of the sea.

There are a total of 50 guest rooms and 10 villas. In addition to the renovation of existing guest rooms, seven new suite rooms with sauna and Jacuzzi have been created. In addition, a new lounge equipped with massage chairs and beverages has been added to the line leading from the main bath to the guest rooms.

The restaurant will convert part of the banquet hall and the front desk into the main dining room. The restaurant will offer a locally produced, locally consumed menu that makes extensive use of regional ingredients and local products.

In the fall of 2026, the adjacent restaurant building will be renovated, with a new executive lounge on the first floor open to all guests, and a “secret meeting space” where guests can enjoy barrel-aged whiskey on the spot by opening a hidden door.

On the second floor, a thermal spa facility will be newly opened, complete with a mixed bathing sauna (swimsuits required) and other facilities.
