JICA President Akihiko Tanaka met with Prime Minister Tsering Tobgay of the Kingdom of Bhutan at JICA Headquarters on March 13.
At the beginning of his remarks, President Tanaka noted that the year 2026 will mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Bhutan, and that several events and dignitary visits are planned in both countries.
In response, Prime Minister Tobgay expressed his gratitude for JICA’s cooperation in Bhutan and his desire to further strengthen ties between the two countries on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
They also exchanged views on how JICA and Bhutan should cooperate with each other in the future, with a view to Bhutan’s future development.
