KDDI and Wire and Wireless will gradually introduce “au Starlink Ferry Wi-Fi” on seven ferries connecting major cities starting in April, for a total of 15 vessels.
The new service will be introduced on the “Kitakami,” “Ishikari,” and “Kiso” ferries of Taiheiyo Ferry and the “Dogo,” “Ritsurin,” “Shimanto,” and “Bizan” ferries of Ocean Tokyu Ferry, enabling high-speed communication on long-distance ferry routes where there are many areas out of coverage.
