Slytherin! The voices of the Sorting Ceremony echoed through the Great Hall! The Invitation from Hogwarts, a special event at the Studio Tour Tokyo

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the film, we are reminded to look back at the movie “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” which can be considered the origin of the story.

Limited food and goods are also available in conjunction with the special event.

In this program, the filming and visual effects techniques used in the first film in the series, “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” will be demonstrated to show how the various types of magic were created. The “Sorting Hat” will appear in the Great Hall to recreate the “Sorting Ceremony” before your eyes. The Gryffindor common room will be transformed into a recreation of the scene where Harry receives the Cloak of Invisibility on Christmas morning.

Warner Bros. Japan is holding “Studio Tour Tokyo Making of Harry Potter” (1-1-7 Kasuga-cho, Nerima-ku, Tokyo) in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the release of the movie “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” with the special program “Invitation from Hogwarts”. The period is from March 18 to September 6.

The Great Hall, the setting for Hogwarts’ Sorting Ceremony during the special “Invitation from Hogwarts” event. The Sorting Hat is placed in the center of the podium, and the British actor Leslie Phillips, who has voiced the Sorting Hat in the film series, delivers his distinctive voice to the students as they hear the words “Slytherin! and “Gryffindor! and “Gryffindor!” in the distinctive voice of Leslie Phillips, the British actor who voiced the Sorting Hat in the film series. The ghosts that startled Harry and the other new students also appear, bringing back the excitement of the first film’s famous scene.

On the stage next to the Gryffindor Common Room, the secrets of filming the Cloak of Invisibility that Harry wears are demonstrated. This is a rare opportunity to experience the visual effects used to express the wizarding world while watching on a monitor the image of the cloak part disappearing.

Another stage highlights special effects commonly used in filming movies. In a demonstration of spellcasting, visitors can see how the scene in “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” in which wings float up when a spell is cast, was filmed and how the trick was used.

There is also a demonstration that tells “The Secrets of Hagrid.” Here, it is explained that there were two actors who played Hagrid and the filming techniques used to show his huge body. The animatronics of Hagrid’s head on display is astonishingly elaborate and realistic when seen up close. It is truly like magic come to life.

In the area past Diagon Alley, there is a unique stage that introduces the personal belongings required when entering Hogwarts. It is interesting to see school supplies such as robes, ties, wands, tricorn hats, trunks, and textbooks on display. Incidentally, there are eight types of textbooks.

The climax of the Studio Tour Tokyo is the “Model of Hogwarts Castle,” where a special projection mapping is shown in conjunction with this project. The production is inspired by the first Quidditch match in the movie “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” in which Harry makes his debut as the youngest Seeker.

A number of limited edition food items are also available to enhance this project. At this preview, we were able to try a pizza that reminded us of a scene from the movie “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

The “Quidditch Pizza – Gryffindor vs. Slytherin” served in the food hall next to the lobby is a half-and-half version of Harry’s debut match, Gryffindor vs.

Both the tomato-based griffin d’or with plenty of pastrami beef and the quattro formaggi Slytherin with beef patty and kale in a basil sauce were delicious. In the center is a “golden snitch” made from seafood rice croquettes. Why don’t you try to recreate a scene from the movie by taking a picture with this snitch in your mouth?
