Co-sponsored by
Japanese Red Cross Society, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Japan Physical Therapists Association (JPTA)
The number of injured soldiers and civilians in the region continues to increase due to the more than four-year conflict between Russia and Ukraine. While the need for rehabilitation of people with common illnesses is increasing, the conflict has resulted in a lack of medical facilities and medical personnel who can provide adequate medical care in the region, and there is not enough system in place for people to receive mental and physical rehabilitation, which threatens their health.
This event will focus on the current situation of the Ukrainian people suffering from the effects of the conflict, and will include reports on past activities by Japanese and local organizations involved in rehabilitation support. The event will also include a discussion among rehabilitation experts on the difficulties in providing support during the conflict, challenges of rehabilitation in Ukraine, knowledge that Japan can offer, and key activities for future support. All interested parties are welcome to attend.
