JAL revamps international in-flight meals in March. New chef for First/Business, expansion of drinks including non-alcoholic beverages such as Japanese tea in all classes.

JAL announced the renewal of in-flight meals for international flights from March onward.

In addition to expanding the lineup to include non-alcoholic beverages such as Japanese tea for all classes, the business class on long-haul flights between Europe, the U.S., and Doha will be offered a new format for in-flight meals: for the first meal, a dessert service will include fruits and cheese, and for the second meal, all passengers will be offered a set menu (as snacks (An a la carte menu is also available).

In addition, two new chefs, Natsuko Shoji of été in Yoyogi Uehara and Nae Ogawa of natuRe waikiki in Honolulu, have been invited to supervise First and Business Class. Mr. Shoji will be in charge of the second meal in First/Business Class on flights from Tokyo to Doha, Europe and the United States, and Mr. Ogawa will be in charge of the Business Class meal on flights from Hawaii.

In addition, in Premium Economy Class and Economy Class, a new chef from RED U-35, a competition for young chefs with which JAL continues to collaborate, will show his skills on medium and long-haul routes from Japan to Europe, the United States, Southeast Asia and other destinations.
