JAL to End In-Flight Face-to-Face Sales on Domestic Flights on March 1, and Consolidate to “In-Flight Sales at Home”. International flights will use both in-person and digital sales.

JAL Group will end in-person in-flight sales on domestic flights on March 1, and integrate them into a digital “in-flight sales at home” service. The same service will also be introduced to international flights.

In-flight shopping at home is a service that allows passengers to enjoy online shopping for a limited period of three days after boarding for deliveries within Japan by creating a special ID and password through in-flight Wi-Fi during the flight.

By integrating in-flight sales at home on domestic flights, customers can select products after the flight in addition to during the flight, purchase without worrying about in-flight inventory availability, and eliminate the need to carry products with them as they can be delivered to home or other locations.

On international flights, the company will maintain the traditional in-person sales, while expanding digital purchase options. In addition, by adjusting the amount of in-flight sales items carried on board, the airframes can be made lighter, which will help reduce environmental impact.

In conjunction with this, a campaign is being prepared for those who use in-flight sales at home. For details, please check the campaign website.
