MUJI BASE KYOTO kiyomizu (4-171 Kiyomizu, Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture) will open on May 20.
The existing “Amenity Hotel Kyoto” will be renovated. The exterior of the hotel, which used to be part of the town’s scenery, will be retained, while the 18 guest rooms will feature furniture and interior items from MUJI, as well as works by artists and writers from the Kyoto area.
Four types of rooms are available: double rooms with a queen bed (approx. 18.1-18.8 m2), twin rooms (approx. 25.6 m2) and twin rooms with a bathtub (approx. 29.8-30.9 m2) that can accommodate three people with a bunk bed and day bed, and family rooms (approx. 53 m2) with four double beds for group use. The hotel offers four types of rooms, with room rates starting at 20,600 yen per room per night. Breakfast will be served at Ogawa Coffee Shimizu on the first floor, with an original menu exclusively for hotel guests (advance reservations required).
In addition to the “Morning Kiyomizu Stroll,” an early morning stroll to Kiyomizu Temple (5:40-7:00 daily, limited to guests, charged), which takes advantage of being only a few minutes’ walk from the temple, each guest room will be equipped with a “Regional Tour MAP” listing nine regional experiences that allow guests to encounter Kyoto’s everyday beauty, with emphasis on regional experiences unique to Kyoto. The hotel will also provide a “Regional Tour MAP” in each guest room, which lists nine regional experiences that allow guests to experience the everyday beauty of Kyoto.
