Emergency Relief Aid for Cyclone Damage in Sri Lanka – Supplies

In response to a request from the government of Sri Lanka for assistance for cyclone damage in the country, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will provide emergency relief supplies as follows

1. damage from the earthquake and tsunami

The cyclone that hit Sri Lanka in late November caused extensive human and material damage in the affected areas.

Damage as of November 29 (as announced by the Sri Lankan government)

Death toll: 153

Affected people: approx. 770,000

Missing persons 191

Evacuees: approx. 44,000

Affected houses: approx. 3,000

2. details of the provision of supplies

(1) Details of emergency relief supplies (JICA Singapore warehouse)

plastic sheet

plastic container (e.g. gas can, water can or similar)

water filter

(2) Transportation Schedule

Coordinating transportation to Colombo by close air.
