Suica and PASMO code payment “teppay” to be launched in Fall 26. Balance transfer beyond apps, etc.

On November 25, JR East, PASMO, and the PASMO Council announced teppay, a code payment service for Mobile Suica and Mobile PASMO. The service will be available for Mobile Suica from the fall of 2026 and for Mobile PASMO from the spring of 2027.

The teppay functionality will include code payments, balance transfers, and online payments.

With the code payment, purchases exceeding the maximum balance of the existing transportation system IC (20,000 yen) can be made, and teppay balance can be deposited into a bank account, ATM, or View Card. When linked to a View Card, purchases can be made without the need to recharge the card.

As for sending balances, teppay users can “send and receive” between teppay users across mobile Suica/PASMO applications, and it is also possible to recharge transportation system IC balances and purchase commuter passes from teppay balances.

You can also issue teppay balances in the teppay JCB Plica application for use in online shopping.
