February 2026 issue of Airline Monthly features “THE COCKPIT,” a look into the world of the cockpit. Includes a nationwide airport wanderlust calendar.

On December 27, Ikaros Shuppan released “Monthly Airline February 2026,” an A4-size, 144-page book priced at 1980 yen.

The special feature is THE COCKPIT.

The cockpit of an airplane. From this not very large space, the pilots operate the huge aircraft. What are the roles of the switches, levers, and screens that line the cockpit? And what are the highly skilled pilots thinking and how do they control the aircraft?

We enter the cockpits of JAL’s Airbus A350-1000 and NCA’s Boeing 747-8, and interview the pilots of both aircrafts. In addition, we will also provide cockpit catalogs of the major airliners currently in service, as well as a look at the responsibilities and decisions that the captain, who is ultimately responsible for the aircraft, must make when operating it, as told by the captain himself.

The special supplemental calendar, popular every year, is the “Nippon Zenkoku Airport Ramblings Calendar 2026” by aviation photographer A☆50/Akira Igarashi.
