JICA President Akihiko Tanaka met with President Emomali Rakhmon of the Republic of Tajikistan in Tokyo on December 19.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Rahmon welcomed the participants to their first meeting in two years and expressed his gratitude for JICA’s cooperation in Tajikistan.
In response, President Tanaka expressed his gratitude for the warm reception he received during his visit to Tajikistan two years ago, and his hope that the “Central Asia + Japan” Dialogue (CA+JAD) and summit meeting will further deepen the cooperative relationship between the two countries and promote further cooperation.
They also exchanged views on a wide range of areas, including cooperation in utilizing Tajikistan’s potential in green economy and improving connectivity within the Central Asian region, as well as human resource development and private sector promotion.
