Yoshida Kaban will release PORTER’s new “MONOCHROME” series on January 9.
After its release in June last year, the new product has been available only at POP-UPs at some of the country’s leading stores, such as the London-based concept store “Dover Street Market GINZA” and the Canadian select store “HAVEN”. Now, it will be available at select stores in Japan and abroad, including all PORTER STORE stores in Japan, as well as at the official Yoshida Kaban online store.
The lineup consists of five models: backpack (143,000 yen), daypack (121,000 yen), messenger bag (110,000 yen), messenger bag S (93,500 yen), and 2-way tote bag (99,000 yen). Each is available in two colors, all-khaki and all-black.
MONOCHROME is characterized by a design that pursues functionality and convenience rather than ornamentation, based on the concept of “one bag” that can be used in any location, in any weather, and in any aspect of life or hobbies.
It incorporates features such as nylon taffeta with life water resistance against sudden changes such as street rain, a back structure with excellent ventilation and quick-drying properties, carrying equipment straps that can be adjusted smoothly with a single action, and shoulder pads that are light and comfortable to wear and reduce the burden on the shoulders. All of the bags are sized to accommodate 13″.
