Tokyo Metro will sell the Tokyo Metro x PENTAX Camera Strap Marunouchi Line Series 02 on February 6 and 16. The price is 9,280 yen.
As part of the “Tokyo Metro Upcycle Project,” a project to reuse and convert discarded items into goods, this camera strap is made from the moquette fabric of Series 02 trains that used to operate on the Marunouchi Line. After washing, craftsmen in Adachi-ku sewed the straps together by hand to complete the project.
The total length, excluding the tip cord, is approximately 81 cm. Limited to 230 pieces of each color, for a total of 560 pieces. The production was done in cooperation with Ricoh Imaging’s PENTAX brand, and the Tokyo Metro and PENTAX logos are attached to the product.
The first batch of 150 of each color will be sold at the PENTAX Clubhouse (4-8 Yotsuya-Honshiocho, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) and the Ricoh Imaging Store EC site from 11:00 a.m. on February 6, 2012. The second round of 80 units of each color will be sold from 12:00 p.m. on February 16 at the “Metro Canned Food” e-commerce site.
