MOL Sunflower has announced the fiscal 2026 sailing schedule for its “Daytime Seto Inland Sea Casual Cruise” between Osaka and Beppu.
The Osaka-Beppu route is usually operated as an overnight cruise, departing between 18:00 and 20:00 and arriving between 6:00 and 7:00, but this cruise will depart at 12:00 and arrive at 23:00 to 24:00, passing through the Seto Inland Sea during the daytime on the way. The cruise will arrive at midnight, but passengers can stay on board until 7:00 a.m. if they wish.
In 2026, the ship will operate seven times on May 17, June 21, July 25, September 13, October 4, October 25, and November 15, with only the July 25 sailing up (Beppu→Osaka) and the other sailing down (Osaka→Beppu). Onboard events will be held on different themes, such as Japanese culture and lifestyle. The vessels “Murasaki” and “Kurenai” will be in charge alternately.
Lunch (boxed lunch) is included, and the fare starts at 29,300 yen. Reservations are accepted on the website or by phone from three months prior to each flight date.
