Hotel Metropolitan Kamakura (1-8-1 Komachi, Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture) will start selling the “JR East Kamakura Rolling Stock Center Special Experience Package” on January 15. The stay dates are February 20 and March 20, and the number of rooms is limited to 10 per day.
After staying in a “Superior Twin” room (with no meal), the next day you will take a train from Ofuna Station to JR East’s rail yard, Kamakura Railcar Center. The next day, visitors will board an E259 Series train, which is used for the Narita Express and other trains, and experience the passing of the forwarding line and the washing line. Upon arrival, visitors will tour the training shed and the driver’s cab of the E259 Series, and experience being a driver and conductor of the E235 Series.
Fees vary depending on the dates. In February, the rates are 40,000 yen (single occupancy), 49,000 yen (double occupancy), and 64,500 yen (triple occupancy) per room; in March, the rates are 51,000 yen, 60,000 yen, and 75,000 yen, respectively.
Up to one child under 6 years old sleeps free with one adult over 18 years old, but an additional charge of 10,000 yen per child is required for two or more children.
