JICA has developed the “Disability Mainstreaming* Guidance Notebook” as an office reference for JICA project staff to refer to during the project formulation, monitoring and evaluation phases to promote implementation of the project so that no one is left behind.
The Disability Mainstreaming Guidance Notes are divided into a common guidance note that summarizes cross-sectoral issues and sector-specific guidance notes in eight areas (education, health care, nutrition improvement, social security (including aging), transportation, urban and regional development, disaster management, and governance).
We will hold the above-mentioned debriefing session for the benefit of all parties involved in international cooperation projects.
We hope that you will attend the debriefing session so that you can think about how you can specifically implement activities in your current projects that do not leave people with disabilities behind.
*Mainstreaming disability means “ensuring that disability perspectives are reflected in all development efforts and that persons with disabilities participate in the development process as beneficiaries or implementers.
