SWANS, new “NOVAQ” snow helmet with goggle affinity for clear vision

Yamamoto Kogaku has announced the NOVAQ snow helmet (HSF-261 MIPS) from the SWANS eyewear brand, scheduled for release in November, priced at 26,400 yen.

While the wearing rate of helmets is increasing in the domestic skiing and snowboarding scene, there are psychological hurdles such as the tendency for goggles to become foggy. The company, which has long pursued visibility safety, developed this product based on the concept of active safety, which detects danger by maintaining good visibility.

NOVAQ is designed to be used with goggles equipped with SWANS’ proprietary “A-BLOW SYSTEM” that pops up the lens for ventilation, and its removable brim (brim) suppresses snow penetration and fogging during ventilation and maintains clear vision at all times with its high affinity.

It features a box-type shell design tailored to Asian people, who often have an overhanging head skeleton, and a unique inner padding. The MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) disperses impact from multiple directions.

In addition, a unique three-dimensional earpad structure is employed to prevent the blocking of sound information that affects safety. The entire ear is securely covered to prevent cold air and heavy winds from entering during severe winters, while precisely designed ventilation holes are placed in the center of the earpads.
