Nankai Electric Railway will revise its limited express fares and seat reservation fares on April 1.
In order to continue providing limited express train service in the future, the express fare will be increased, and “ticketless limited express fare” and “additional onboard fare system” will be introduced, which are more economical than the revised limited express and seat reservation fares. In addition, “ticketless limited express fare” and “additional in-train fare system” will be introduced, which are more economical than the revised limited express and reserved-seat fare.
The revision distinguishes between the fare structure when purchased with a paper ticket and when purchased through the “Nankai Limited Express Ticketless Service. Currently, the fare is uniformly 520 yen except for some sections of “Rapito” and “Koya,” but after the revision, the ticketless limited express fare will be 550 yen and the paper ticket fare will be 700 yen.
When using “Koya” for distances exceeding 45 km (e.g. between Shin-Imamiya Station and Gokurakubashi Station), the ticketless fare will be 950 yen, compared to the current 790 yen, and the paper ticket will be 1,100 yen. The “Rapito” train between Izumisano Station and Kansai Airport Station had a special express fare of 100 yen, but this will no longer be applied with the revision.
In addition, an additional in-train fare of 300 yen will be charged in addition to the regular fare when an express ticket or seat reservation ticket is purchased in the train (the same fare will be charged to children).
In addition, the regular limited express tickets and regular reserved-seat tickets that had been on sale for some trains will be discontinued with the revision. The “Nankai Limited Express Ticketless Service” will discontinue the award points that were given based on usage results, and the regular point award rate will be changed from 3% to 1%.
In addition, there will be no change to the Super Seat fare on the Rapito, and the “Rapito Upgrade Service” will continue, which allows customers to ride in Super Seats at no extra charge when they register as members and use the service without a ticket.
