MUJI focuses on “wash” care next to highly moisturizing beauty essence. Natural-derived head scrubs and face masks that can also wash your face are now available.

Ryohin Keikaku held an exhibition of new MUJI products for spring/summer 2026.

Among household goods, skincare products are popular among both men and women of all ages. Recently, moisturizing items such as “high-concentration beauty essence” (2,490 yen each), which is made from carefully selected ingredients, have been selling well. For spring and summer, the brand is strengthening its lineup of cleansing items, such as cleansers and pre-shampoos, under the theme of “healthy mind and body.

The mild cleansing balm type (90g, 1,290 yen), which has been requested by many customers, is now available. The milk type (50mL/200mL/refill 180mL, 390 yen and up) is also back. Both types are reasonably priced and easy to use every day, so those who have only used the oil type are welcome to give them a try.

Also new is “Mild Clay Facial Cleansing Foam that can also be used as a pack” (30g/150g, from 390 yen), which contains four types of clay and charcoal derived from rice husks to cleanse pores of dirt, excess sebum, and dead skin cells, leaving skin smooth. It is great for use not only as a daily face wash, but also as a special care twice a week or so.

Both the various cleansing and clay facial cleansing foams are scheduled to go on sale in mid-February.

The body care lineup includes head scrubs, body towels, and body mittens. The “Plant Fermented Liquid Head Scrub” (200 g, 1,490 yen, scheduled to go on sale in early March) is available in three different scents, and the scrub has a slightly smooth texture rather than the usual salty, rough grains.

Although it is only a pre-shampoo, according to the person in charge, “This item makes the shampoo lather very well. It also makes your hair feel soft after drying, so we want you to use it even outside of summer. It is also nice that the container is a tube type rather than a jar, so it won’t get under your fingernails.

Among moisturizing items, I was interested in sheet masks. The “Washable and Moisturizing Refreshing Mask” (30 sheets, 1,290 yen, scheduled to go on sale in early March), which cleanses and moisturizes in a single sheet, will be useful for busy mornings.

Also new is the “All-in-One Moisturizing Mask” (30 masks, 1,290 yen, to be released in early March) to be utilized on tired nights. It contains lotion, milky lotion, essence, and pack all in one. When the reporter tried it on the back of her hand, she found that the feeling was quite refreshing, but her skin was moist after use, so she felt that it could be used to cool down after a summer bath.

Also recommended for use after summer baths is the mist lotion “Skin Natural Water Whole Body Mist. Priced at 690 yen (400 mL) with bottle and 490 yen (340 mL) for refill, it will be available in early February.

The company is committed to 100% natural ingredients, and the product can be used not only on the face but also on the hair and body. The bottle can be turned upside down to spray mist, making it suitable for backsides and children who do not like to sit still.

Oral Care will be joined in early August (tentative) by “Medicated Mouthwash Dilution Type” (100mL, 790 yen). Instead of the gaudy colors and large containers often seen in drugstores, MUJI has adopted a small container with a simple design that is typical of MUJI. The compact size is not only due to its size, but also to the fact that the lid is a cup, making it ideal for carrying around or stocking as an emergency supply.

The “Medicated Brightening” series is also scheduled to be renewed in early June. In addition, as daytime UV countermeasures, colored sunscreen cream “Tone Up Sunscreen Milk” (light beige/clear pink, 990 yen each) and “Sebum Collapse Prevention Sunscreen Powder” (5.5g, 990 yen) will be available from early April.

The powder is small, palm-sized, and is an item to carry with you, especially in summer when you are concerned about shiny skin.
