Three nights in the latest hotel on the mysterious island of Langkawi. Are the rocks on the island the stone figures of giants of folklore?

Langkawi is an island like this The island of Langkawi, located in northwestern Malaysia on the border with Thailand, is an island rich in nature with beautiful beaches and tropical rainforests. The population is approximately 65,000, the majority of whom are of Malay descent, but there are also people of Chinese and Indian descent. The main industry is tourism, and many Japanese who visit after the Corona Disaster are repeat visitors. The island has an area of 478 m2 (about two-thirds the size of Awaji Island) and can be circumnavigated in about three hours by car. Incidentally, Malaysia, like Japan, is a left-hand drive country. If you are an experienced driver, renting a car will give you more freedom and convenience. The roads are well-maintained and there seems to be almost no traffic congestion, but you might want to be careful of cows and wild animals (especially monkeys) that walk along the side of the road. Langkawi’s “Lang” is “Helang” (eagle) and “Kaui” is marble, meaning “reddish brown” in Old Malay, both symbolizing Langkawi, which has been a part of this land for a long time. Many legends have been passed down from generation to generation on Langkawi. Another attraction is that the entire island is a special duty-free zone, so you can buy alcohol and foreign chocolates at a lower price than in mainland Malaysia.

We stayed three nights at PARKROYAL Langkawi Resort, a 20-minute drive from the airport along the beach, which has more than 300 rooms and suites as well as seven villas. The hotel is a 5-star hotel that can be recommended for a wide range of people, including couples, families, and groups. The hotel was opened after Corona, so we had a comfortable stay without any inconvenience. We were able to see other categories of rooms, fitness center, spa, etc., so I will show you some pictures. On the first night, the hotel arranged a wonderful barbecue dinner on the beach in front of the hotel, and the temperature in Langkawi in early December was a comfortable 22 degrees Celsius, so we only needed short sleeves to stay comfortable. I will never forget the luxurious time I spent sipping a glass of wine while watching the sun set over the ocean. It was a time when I was able to switch to a relaxing island time.
