Yasukuni Shrine extends opening hours on three days in 2026. Noon lucky charms and embroidered/kiri-e red seals are also available.

Yasukuni Shrine (3-1-1 Kudan-kita, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) provides information on its official website about the first visit to the shrine in 2026.

The gates will open at 23:30 on New Year’s Eve and remain open until 18:00 on New Year’s Day before New Year’s Eve; on the 2nd and 3rd, the gates will open from 6:00 to 18:00 and close one hour earlier than usual.

At the beginning of the New Year, the main shrine will accept formal New Year’s visit to the shrine, as well as prayers for the prevention of bad luck, family safety, and so on. No advance reservation is required.
