Five airlines under the Hanjin Group (Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Jin Air, Air Busan, and Air Seoul) announced the introduction of Starlink for in-flight Wi-Fi.
The service is expected to be introduced at the end of FY2025 and to be launched in the second half of 2026 or later.
Korean Air and Asiana Airlines will give priority to Boeing 777-300ER and Airbus A350-900 aircraft, and will complete the introduction to all aircraft by the end of 2027.
Jin Air plans to start with Boeing 737-8 aircraft, while Air Busan and Air Seoul are considering the type of aircraft to be introduced.
By installing Starlink for in-flight Wi-Fi, passengers will be able to use video streaming services such as YouTube, online games, and large file transfer services just as they would on the ground.
