Bando PA” will open on January 31 on the outer route of Ken-O Expressway. It is located between Bando IC and Joso IC, and has a 24-hour Family Mart.

It is located approximately halfway between Tsukuba JCT on Joban Expressway and Kuki Shiraoka JCT on Tohoku Expressway, about 40 km from Edosaki PA and about 37 km from Shobu PA. The new rest facility will improve safety and convenience in this section. A Family Mart (open 24 hours a day, with 3 eat-in seats) will also be opened in the Bando PA.

NEXCO East Japan will open the Bando PA between the Bando IC and Joso IC on the outer section of the Ken-O Expressway (Metropolitan Inter-City Expressway, C4) at 15:00 on January 31, 2026.

Bando Parking Area (outbound)

Location: Yumida, Bando City, Ibaraki Prefecture (between Bando IC and Joso IC on the outer loop of Ken-O Expressway)

Parking: 33 large vehicles, 39 small vehicles, 1 for disabled persons, 4 motorcycles, 2 oversized vehicles

Toilets: 16 men’s (7 large, 9 small), 16 women’s, 1 barrier-free, 1 family

Quick charger: 2 units (1 unit max. 90 kW)

In addition to “FAMIMA CAFÉ” coffee and frappe, hot snacks including the standard “Famichiki” and various private brand “Famimaru” products, FamilyMart also sells local souvenirs such as “Shomon Sempei”, a specialty of Bando City.

The PA grounds are planted with local cherry trees called “Benisashima” and rest benches are placed. In addition, a “family restroom” is provided for use with children and for changing diapers. The restrooms are also designed with the city characters “Negi Grandpa” and “Negi Grandma.

In addition, an outbound version of the “Highway Stamp” featuring designs of local specialties has been installed (it has already been installed at the inbound Bando PA). The design was chosen from among the entries submitted by local elementary school students.
