JICA President Akihiko Tanaka met with African Development Bank (AfDB) President Sidi Ould Thaar at JICA headquarters on November 14.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Tarr expressed his gratitude for the cooperation between JICA and AfDB in Africa and his expectations for further strengthening of cooperation in the future.
In response, President Tanaka stated that under EPSA6 (the 6th phase of the Joint Initiative for Private Sector Development in Africa), the two organizations would like to strengthen their collaboration while complementing each other’s strengths.
Furthermore, the two sides exchanged views on possible assistance to countries working to improve their debt situations and on the possibility of cooperation using private funds.
