Nara Hotel to Renovate New Wing as “West Wing” in Autumn 2026. Conscious of the connection with the main building, “Hanagiku” will become a teppanyaki restaurant.

Nara Hotel (1096 Takahata-cho, Nara City, Nara Prefecture) has unveiled the design for its west wing (currently the new wing), which will reopen in the fall of 2026.

The new building, which features an architectural style known as “Yoshino-ken,” opened in 1984 and is scheduled to be closed from January 4, 2026 (of which all buildings will be closed until late May), before reopening in the fall of the same year under the name “West Wing.

With the renewal, the guest room design will be conscious of the connection with the classic main building. The space will be in harmony with the nature of the courtyard.

The Japanese restaurant “Hanagiku” will be converted to a teppanyaki restaurant, offering meals that combine traditional Japanese and French cooking techniques. The banquet hall “Wakakusa-no-Ma” will be remodeled with a Shosoin-style carpet and a white color scheme that can also be used for bridal ceremonies.

The hotel plans to conduct promotional activities related to the renovation of the West Wing under the theme of “Register” – record the present and hand it over to the future. A logo was also created to represent a bud waiting to bloom, which is a ledger that will connect the records to the future.
