Kintetsu to operate restaurant train “Les Savoir Shima” in the fall of 2026. Executive Chef Higuchi of Shima Kanko Hotel supervises the French course.

Kinki Nippon Railway, Kintetsu Miyako Hotels, and Kintetsu Retailing have announced that a new sightseeing train, Les Saveurs Shima, will begin service in the fall of 2026.

Under the theme of “Elegant Train Journey with Gastronomy,” two types of French courses will be offered: a French course supervised by Ms. Hiroe Higuchi, Executive Chef of Shima Kanko Hotel, and a French meal prepared by Kintetsu Miyako Hotels.

The train will operate six days a week (seven days a week depending on the season) starting in the fall of 2026, with stops at Kintetsu Nagoya, Ise-shi, Ujiyamada, Isuzugawa, Toba, Ukata, and Kenshima. All seats are reserved, 50 seats, and the train consists of Car No. 1 and No. 2 (French course) with 15 tables of 2 seats and 4 tables of 1 seat (total 34 seats), Car No. 3 is a kitchen car, and Car No. 4 (French course) with 2 tables of 4 seats and 4 tables of 2 seats (total 16 seats).

Prices are being considered in the upper 20,000 yen range for the French course and the upper 10,000 yen range for the French meal. The outbound tour departs from Kintetsu Nagoya around 11:00 a.m. and returns to Kintetsu Nagoya around 7:30 p.m. on the return trip, making it “an easy schedule to use from the Tokyo metropolitan area. The food served on both trips will be the same.
