NEXCO East Japan Kanto Branch announced that the Tsukubamirai Smart IC on the Joban Expressway (E6) is expected to open in the fall of 2026.

It will be constructed between the Yawara IC and the Yatabe IC, and will be available 24 hours a day. The construction is expected to improve access to the Joban Expressway from surrounding areas, alleviate congestion on nearby roads, strengthen the emergency medical care system, and improve logistics efficiency between industrial centers.
