Autumn foliage will begin at Akame 48 Falls, a scenic beauty spot in Nabari City, Mie Prefecture. Peak time is from mid-November, with fantastic nighttime illumination.

The Akame 48 Waterfalls Valley Preservation Association has announced the autumn foliage viewing forecast for 2025 for Akame 48 Waterfalls, a scenic beauty spot in Nabari City, Mie Prefecture. This year, the autumn foliage will peak in mid to late November and continue until early December.

Akame 48 Falls is a 4-km valley dotted with waterfalls of various sizes, including the “Akame Five Waterfalls” (Fudodaki, Sente Falls, Nunobikidaki, Nipparidaki, Kakaridaki, and Pipa Falls). In the fall, the Iroha maples, maples, and mountain cherry trees gradually change color in a gradation of shades, and the Nagasaka trekking course offers a panoramic view of the mountain range dyed in autumn leaves.

In addition, a fantastic illumination event “Mie Akame Takiakari” is being held from October 26; visitors can enjoy different spectacular views day and night, with many photo spots that look great on SNS. A small rest spot “Mori no coco Mi-chan” selling hot cocoa is also open in the valley.

Admission is 700 yen for adults and 400 yen for children. Visitors who have already paid the valley preservation fee (admission fee to Akame Falls Aquarium) of 1,000 yen may continue viewing.
