JAL has applied to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism for a revision of the applicable amount of the “fuel surcharge” (fuel surcharge). The surcharge will apply to tickets issued between June 1 and July 31, 2024.
The two-month average Singapore kerosene market price for February-March 2024 was $102.81 per barrel. Multiplying this by the average exchange rate of 149.52 yen per dollar for the same period, the yen equivalent of the Singapore kerosene market price is 15,373 yen, and the fuel surcharge applicable to tickets issued from June to July 2024 is based on 15,000 yen.
