JR West, JR West Real Estate Development, and JR West Osaka Kaihatsu have decided on “Umekita Green Place” as the name of the above-ground facility at Osaka Station (Umekita area), which is being developed for full opening in spring 2025.
The urban shopping center “Umekita Green Place” will have a site area of approximately 12,500m2 and three floors above ground, with approximately 20 stores, restaurants, and a food court. The total store area is approximately 3,750m2.
As the gateway to the Umekita 2nd phase area, a “pedestrian deck” will be opened in September 2024, connecting to the existing Osaka Station area (North Gate Building), in addition to creating a greenery-rich plaza and a bustling place for relaxation. After that, a new “Station Square” will be developed to improve the terminal functions of the Osaka Station area and create a circulation system for the facilities.
