Vocalist Kotone’s Musical Journey] Strolling in Jiyugaoka in winter, the elegant fairy tale world and European atmosphere will make your heart warm and fuzzy.

Taking a break at a café with a relaxing atmosphere I was tired of walking after a short stroll, so I took a break at a café called “Chanoko. The calm and relaxed atmosphere was so appealing that I entered the cafe as if I had been sucked in. I am usually a coffee drinker, but I ordered a cup of royal milk tea as it was recommended on the menu. On a cold winter day, I somehow feel like having a cup of royal milk tea. I wonder if it is a characteristic of the town of Jiyugaoka that there are people working, but the atmosphere is relaxed. Perhaps it is because of the proximity to residential areas, but there are many people who seem to live in the neighborhood, so there is no hectic atmosphere. I took a break while sipping a cup of delicious royal milk tea, which warmed my heart and soul.

A famous restaurant known only to those in the know for its excellent food and wine. After warming up in the café for a bit, I was feeling a little hungry and decided to have a drink! I decided to go to Bistro “Urajiyugaoka”. I have been to this bistro several times, but I have never had a full meal there! This time, I told the master that I was going to visit the restaurant with an empty stomach. First, I toasted with a Umeshiso Sour, and then had the “Tuna and Olive Tartar” as a side dish. The salty olives and pink pepper accent give the dish a pleasant Greek or Mediterranean flavor. On a cold winter night, I wanted to eat something rich! So I ordered the “Sautéed Duck with White Mildew Cheese Sauce. I was not sure whether to choose white or red wine at this point, but as I am a red wine lover, I selected red wine because the red wine of the day was a fruity, easy-drinking Bordeaux wine. The aroma of the animal-like duck and the peculiarity of the white mold cheese matched each other perfectly, and the wine went down a treat. The texture of the white kidney beans and the slightly crispy duck meat are delightful. If I had to give this dish an alias, I would call it a “wine thief. When we were a little tipsy, we had risotto to finish off the meal. Normally, risotto is not on the menu, but this time, since I had told the master in advance that I was ordering a meal, he had prepared it for me. The hospitality of the chef is also very nice, as he responds to our requests depending on how hungry we are. The arrabbiata-style risotto with plenty of Italian olive oil was perfect with the core of rice remaining, and it was also perfect as a snack rather than a staple meal! All the dishes prepared by the master, who loves to drink, are sure to strike a chord with any drinker. Since I had spent some time in Italy, I felt as if I were in a foreign country even though I was in Japan, as the seasoning was close to that of the local European cuisine. There are many towns in Tokyo, but Jiyugaoka is one of them. It has a relaxed atmosphere, but at the same time, you can feel the scent of Europe, which is a trip. There are still some stores that have not been developed in Jiyugaoka, so I would like to revisit and visit them again. Even on a cold winter day, I was able to enjoy walking around the town because it was warm inside the stores. It is nice to relax in the comfort of your own home, but it is also fun to go outside for a while and discover something new and refreshing on a holiday.
