The Tokyo Metropolitan Government will open a 1.5-km stretch of the Okuno Ome Route 238, including the Umegaya Tunnel from Okuno, Hinode-cho, Nishitama-gun, to Umego 1-chome, Ome-shi, to traffic at 15:00 on March 16.
This is expected to shorten the access time between Hinode and Ome, as well as improve disaster preparedness by double-routing and preventing the area around the No. 184 Okutama-Akiruno Line from becoming isolated.
