On January 31, TokyAir became the first new independent airline in 15 years to begin service on the Niigata-Okadama (Sapporo) route.
The aircraft is an ATR 72-600 with 72 seats. The first flight from Niigata (BV101) departed at 9:37 am and arrived at Okadama Airport at 11:10 am. The first flight carried 71 passengers (98.6% occupancy rate).
