JICA conducts ongoing information and opinion exchanges (Port Alumni Meetings) to strengthen networking among port stakeholders in the Southeast Asia and Pacific region.
From January 22 to 23, 2024, we invited executives and executive candidates related to ports (11 people from 8 countries*) to Indonesia and held a meeting with the cooperation of the Port Authority of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
This year’s program included a symposium by port authorities on port operations after the Corona disaster, and seminars with private sector participants to share knowledge on Green Port and other decarbonization initiatives.
Many participants commented that the meeting was informative and provided timely public-private networking opportunities.
We will continue to strengthen our network and confidence in ports in Southeast Asia and the Pacific region at large.
