New Cosmos Electric’s COALAN carbon monoxide poisoning alarm for outdoor use

New Cosmos Electric will release COALAN, a carbon monoxide alarm for outdoor use, on December 12.

This outdoor-use product from the company that manufactures household gas alarms is designed to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning from charcoal fires, stoves, generators, and other sources.

A hole is provided for hanging the unit inside a tent or on a tarp, and it can be used in combination with the attached carabiner. If the carbon monoxide concentration in the vicinity of the unit exceeds 25ppm for 15 minutes, or 100ppm or more, a Japanese voice will sound an alarm.

The main unit is dustproof and drip-proof, equivalent to IP54, with an operating environment of -10 to 50°C (-10 to 50°F) and humidity of 15 to 95%. It has also passed the company’s shock and vibration tests.
