JR East will move up the last train time of the Joetsu Shinkansen in the spring of 2024.
In light of the renewal work of the Tohoku and Joetsu Shinkansen lines more than 40 years after its opening and the decrease in work efficiency due to the decrease in the number of construction workers and changes in work styles, the last train of the Joetsu Shinkansen line will be moved up by about 20 minutes from the spring of 2024.
In addition to normal maintenance, the purpose of this project is to expand nighttime work hours in order to steadily promote renewal and anti-earthquake work.
