Hokkaido Air System’s Okadama-Nemuro-Nakashibetsu service opens today, the first new JAL Group domestic route in 12 years, with President Takemura saying, “We want to boost the East Hokkaido region.

On October 29, Hokkaido Air System launched the Okadama (Sapporo) – Nemuro-Nakashibetsu route and the Okadama – Akita route, respectively.

The company has been replacing its fleet with ATR 42-600 aircraft since 2020, and just put its fourth aircraft (No. 4) into scheduled service on October 25, 2023, the first in the company’s history.

The new four-plane fleet has made today’s new opening possible, especially for Nemuro-Nakashibetsu Airport, which is the first new domestic route for the JAL Group in 12 years, since Rishiri Airport in October 2011.
