Translation-capable transparent displays are officially introduced at Seibu Shinjuku Station. Improved keyboard input and operation instructions.

On November 1, Seibu Railway will install a translation-capable transparent display at Seibu Shinjuku Station, which has been undergoing a demonstration experiment. As in the experiment, the display will be installed at the counter next to the express ticket counter at the front entrance.

Since the practicality of the system was confirmed in the experiments that began in July, the company decided to introduce the new system. Functional improvements have been made since the experiment, including the addition of keyboard input and on-screen operation explanations for users who have difficulty speaking, as well as the elimination of button operations during conversations to allow for more natural responses.

The Seibu Tourist Information Center Shinjuku, which has been closed since 2022, will become the “Foreign Customer Information Desk” and will be replaced by this display.
