Chotamaran Expo, an event celebrating the 130th anniversary of Tama’s transfer to Tokyo. An e-commerce site featuring specialty products was also opened.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the municipalities of Tama will hold the “Chotamaran Expo” on October 28-29.

The event will be held on Sun Sun Road at the north exit of JR Tachikawa Station to commemorate the 130th anniversary of the transfer of Tama from Kanagawa Prefecture to Tokyo Prefecture (at that time). Booths of all 30 cities, towns, and villages will sell local specialties and offer local gourmet foods and alcoholic beverages. In addition, the Tokyo Tourism Ambassador chefs will offer a limited menu using Tama ingredients.

Other events include workshops such as log cutting of Tama timber and large-scale flower art, stage events featuring local characters, and a digital stamp rally raffle.

In conjunction with the event, an e-commerce site featuring specialty products from the Tama region will be opened for a limited time from October 16 to February 29, 2024. The site will feature products recommended by the municipalities, such as “Jindaiji Yakuwari-mai (rice to ward off bad luck).
