Kanagawa Prefecture will start the “Kanagawa Railway Discount” program on October 1, 2012, offering discounts on special tickets.
A ticket is a combination of a train ticket and a sightseeing facility ticket, meal ticket, souvenir ticket, etc.
Digital tickets, which can be purchased with a smartphone, offer a 30% discount (up to 3,000 yen) on weekdays and a 20% discount (up to 2,000 yen) on weekends and holidays per ticket face. Paper tickets offer a 10% discount (up to 1,000 yen) on both weekdays and holidays.
